Dr. Eugene Sembrat, Chiropractor
Dr. Sembrat has been a practicing chiropractor in Alberta for over 28 years before recently relocating to Vancouver Island.
After graduating Summa Cum Laude from Northwestern Health Sciences University with Bachelor of Science in Human Biology and Doctor of Chiropractic Degrees. He has acquired specialized training in ergonomics, workplace safety, nutrition, orthotics, posture rehabilitation, myofascial techniques, and metabolic testing.
The treatment approach he utilizes includes spinal manipulation along with a progression of stretching and strengthening programs to speed recovery and maintain results. He also incorporates myofascial release work (ART) , instrument assisted soft tissue technique (Graston), PNF stretching, and Trigger Point Therapy.
He stresses the importance of a treatment program that includes a role for the patients in their own care. It is also important for him to work in a multi-disciplinary environment to further ensure a quick and complete resolution to an injury.
Teaching is something that he enjoys and has conducted classes related to workplace safety, ergonomics, stretching, posture, nutrition, and running for patients as well as employees of companies such as Shell Canada, University of Calgary, Salvation Army, Government of Canada, Alberta Justice, Woods Homes, and BP Canada.
Personally, he enjoys teaching, reading, running, weight training, and spending time with friends and family on outdoor adventures. He has completed thirteen marathons and 23 half marathons which has given him a much more intimate understanding of the pain and injury patients endure!
